The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), officially branded as the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship for sponsorship reasons, will be the 8th edition of this prestigious biennial football tournament. Organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), CHAN exclusively features national teams composed of players active in their respective domestic leagues.
This landmark edition will run from 1 to 28 February 2025, co-hosted for the first time by three nations: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Host Selection
On 17 December 2023, CAF announced the joint bid of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda as the successful hosts for the 2024 CHAN. This decision also serves as a trial run for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which the three nations are expected to host.

Qualification Process
The qualification phase, announced on 9 September 2024, spanned from 25 October to 29 December 2024. While Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia initially secured automatic qualification, Libya later withdrew due to scheduling conflicts.
